Well,Friends of Aristocracy!
We talk about our newsroom.Where, we'll start on all your emotions, the sixty-ninth interview of the Aristocracy. This time, it will be the first time that we will repeat an interview in all its emotions.Well, we got to talk to them in 2019 to show their debut album titled Zabobony.
They return to our society, to present their second album Szeptun. We are talking about the Polish band Popiól. Literally, Polish. Since their songs are all in this language. Let's go to their complete album so that this second interview happens. Before that, we must say that there is already a plan for a third album.
A1:Talking about the composition work in Szeptun?
Popiól:The construction of the songs on both "Szeptun" and "Zabobony" is the result of teamwork. Sometimes, the initiative comes from the MAG,Bard duo and sometimes the piece is written with a bass guitar. Sometimes,it's also completely spontaneous.
A2:What natural aspects were brought to this album?
Popiól:Perhaps the most natural is death (hahaha). Natural, nowadays is what whisper is about. Social anesthesia,Bipolar disorder. It's completely natural.
A3:It's clear to us, the decadence we live in. But, through the lens of a Polish band, does this decadence tend to get worse?
Popiól:Something has gone wrong, these words aren't just an addition to the music and you have doubts whether the bottom has been reached or whether humanity can fuck up something, more so that god can continue to look at it and enjoy the view.
A4:In some way, the pandemic guided some ideas for the songs in this work?
Popiól:Pandemic did not affect the theme of the album. It only, speed up work on it.
A5:Is paganism in a religious aspect strong in your country?
Popiól:Unfortunately, Poland, despite being an indigenous pagan land, is also strongly Orthodox Catholic. Like Italy, Spain, Portugal. Pagan movements are a marginal minority.
A6:You have already been compared to Thy Worshiper. How do you deal with such a comparison?
Popiól:Ash is part of Thy Worshiper as much as Thy Worshiper is part of Ash.Each of us is connected by this story. Musically, these beings are currently divergent. If it were not so, there would be no need to create the Popiół band.
A7:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Popiól:This is, how I see Whisper in my mind's eye.
A8:Is this album conceptual?
Popiól:What do you think? For us, definitely yes. From music, through texts, layout, video to a little surprise in the digipack itself.
A9:How band get to Pagan Records?
Popiól:We worked with Pagan Records years ago as Thy Worshiper, so this direction is natural for us. When it comes to the Polish scene, this label is known, respected and appreciated. We are glad that Szeptun has come down to earth just by Pagan Rec.
A10:What would the 2022 Popiol say to the 2019 Popiol?
Popiól:Shorten the tags or we'll fall a sleep hahahahahaha.
A11:The band feel differences between Zabobony and Szeptun?
Popiól:They are two different albums, but they share many features. In my opinion, the climate was preserved. The formula has changed. We are not talking about everything directly. Part of the message was hidden between the lines.
A12:What's bands influence ours?
Popiól:The Beatles.
A13:What kind of black metal you don't like?
Popiól:Boring and clichéd.
A14:Based on your two albums and your personal opinion.Respond: Is the human being an agony or an animal for health?
Popiól:Man is a man to the point where he retains human qualities. The psyche, morality, behavior, sophistication and culture are unfortunately agons. We also tell our stories about it.
Thank you and best regards.
