Well,Friends Of Aristocracy!
We speak again of our newsroom, where in a little while, we will follow, in all its emotions, the interview 158 of the Aristocracy. This time, we talk to a band that shows the stinking well of consumerism in a brutal, scary and evil way. In addition to the savagery, they show a mirror that contemplates our most repulsive imperfections. It's a band that has members spread around the world, but they decided to come together to create a chaotic atmosphere and in a very forceful way. We're talking about Awaken The Misogynist. They show us their debut album entitled Descended From Vast Dimensions. ,we want to thank the band and producer Chris from Imperative, a British production company who kindly showed us this spectacular project. Now, let's go to one of their songs to start this amazing conversation.
A1:Talking about the composition work in Descended From Vast Dimensions?
Livio: It all started with my drum programming. I had worked on this project from time to time. For a while it wasn't clear which band all the material would be used for.I think I already had 2 or 3 drum tracks ready when I asked Wilson if he would like to record a couple of riffs over the it. That went pretty quickly and we decided that I would finish more drum tracks. At some point during the process it became clear that we would have a drummer,Guido. It was also clear that my programmed drums would not be used. But I was by no means disappointed. Guido is a very talented drummer and we couldn't ask for a better one. Wilson recorded the rest of the songs when we found Joe as our bassist and our lineup was complete.
A2:How is black Humor approached on this album by the band?
Jameson-:As someone who loves comedy with a dark approach like Anthony Jeselnik, Jim Norton, George Carlin. I appreciate taking an alternative route to something wile bringing it to its own extreme. Most of the lyrics I write has less outright comedy in it and more trying to envoke imagery that's extreme and brutal you can't help but smile like watching a slasher film. The track Breeding Violence is one in particular that stands to me as a funny track. It's basically a twisted "how to make a murderer" from based on the idea of "hurt people hurt people" and ends in a twist that always makes be laugh.
A3:What absolute authorities does the band seek to combat in this album?
Jameson:We are here to make it known that cats are adorable and should be pet.Any other stance is untolerable.I am allergic,no excuses.
A4:Some literature or film inspire the band?
Jameson:I've always been a fan of insane visuals like Aliens & Hellraiser that gave such an extreme framework for the story. In most cases my goal is to do the same with my words!
A5:What are the repulsive imperfections that the band addresses on this album?
Jameson:The main theme that fuels my repulsion would be the lack questioning and self-control. People who don't walk the walk but talk the talk.
A6:Is the eighth song meant to be contradictory?
Jameson:The song A Satan Rose is inspired from the old Manga/TV show Giant Robo.In the show,Satan Rose is a monster that is a plant with vines and the ability of rapid growth.I weaved a story of a sad child only wishing to give his mother a gift but only brings hell.
A7:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Jameson:The album art is actually based on the songs Resurrection I & II.The scene is abeautiful interpretation of where part 2 starts with the dark wizard upon its reanimated beast made from the bodies collected in part 1! Having an artist grasp your idea so perfectly is a dream come true!
A8:Why the band have this name?
Jameson:My understanding is this. In the bands earliest conception the name was thought up on a drunken night and laughter at it ensued. If you can't laugh at yourself then you are living life wrong!
A9:How band arrive to Comatose Music?
Joe:When looking for a label to work with I considered many options.Steve@ Comatose has a fantastic reputation working with some the of the biggest and best in extreme metal and I know that label does not shy away from challenging bands and subject matter. After sending earlier mixes of the album, Steve was very impressed and expressed he would like to work with us on the release.
A10:How band know about Imperative PR?
Joe:Having worked with Imperative PR previously in another band of mine,Colpocleisis, I know their ability and quality.Comatose explained they work exclusively with Imperative PR for their roster releases and we were more than happy to also work with them.
A11:This album is conceptual?
Jameson:Although when producing the album my goal was to weave in samples to make it gapless as well as have the songs tell stories but it is not, from my understanding,a concept album.
A12:How is Awaken The Misogynist different from your previous bands?
Jameson:For me, this is the first time working as a vocalist in a project that wasn't just me! I've only played bass live (Conforza, Destroy the Legacy) before so this was all new to me!
A13:What is Kanstepated?
Jameson:With all the other tracks being written with vocal patterns and lyrics, this track was done one a day where my brain was BLOCKED UP and I just did guttural DUMP.
A14:Why the song Resurrection have two parts?
Jameson:When I first sat down and listened the preproduction version of the album those two tracks sounded like they would work out as a nice two part and quickly got the idea for the songs.A dark eternal wizard living in modern times who collects people to craft its ultimate beast to conquer the world with! Part 2 is after the beast awakens!
A15:Is it different working with two vocalists?
Jameson:I've never worked with an online project let alone with another vocalist so for me it was a complete learning experience Livio:Well, this is not my first online project and not the first time that two singers are involved. But it's always a learning process, a new project usually also means new people, so you first have to get a feeling for the whole situation and find a way which works fine for both.
A16:The band feel differences between Abuse Of Consumption and now in Descended From Vast Dimensions?
Jameson:I think having a rookie like me at the helm made this album nontraditional and definitely a different vibe then the ep.
