We will follow this from now on in all your emotions.Let´s go!
A1:Talking about the composition work in Spirit From The Void?
Jani Moilanen:Spirit From The Void is our fourth studio album. It took a lot of work and passion to be completed. As with other albums also the songs in Spirit From The Void are typically constructed around the one main idea created by Mikko or me.Mikko has a unique gift of creating entities from these ideas in his mind and soon the first demo versions are ready. If the demo version has something special in it and appeals to both of us,we continue to complete it to its final form.
A2:How the chaos influence the band?
Jani Moilanen:Chaos and the effort of controlling it, then the feeling of letting it out.The influnce comes from the feelings expressing those.
A3:What atmosphere band want in this album?
Jani Moilanen:We have a great passion for the Wilds of Lapland and North. That is something we want to share with our music. The beauty of the cold and harsh nature of the North.
A4:How the darkness influence the band?
Jani Moilanen:Besides of the fact that we all live in the Northern finland, which means that during the winter time it is mostly dark outside,we want to deal with the darknes inside of ones mind. Lyrically we prefer short and poetic lyrics, which can be thought in many different ways. Lyrics are also influenced a lot by darkness.
A5:Some literature or film inspire the band?
Mikko Ojala: I have read a lot about philosophy of life and it has had a great impact on lyrics.
A6:How the band arrive to Inverse Records?
Jani Moilanen:Mikko has collaborated with the staff of Inverse Records earlier which made it quite natural for us. The guys there are great and working with them has been very easy and smooth from the start.
A7:How is Kaamos Warriors different from your previous bands?
Jani Moilanen:I have played mostly rock and hard rock until I lost my heart and soul for this type of music.
Mikko Ojala:I have also another band Dark The Suns which has released four studio albums. With Kaamos Warriors I have wanted to go more into the world of black metal while Dark the Suns has its roots in melancholic metal.
A8:Is the world ridiculous?
Jani Moilanen:With the current horrible things happened in Ukraine it feels a bit hard to even answer. Usually I would have said that the world is so many things/feelings or whatever words one prefers even during a one single day. Some things are under your control and you can trust how it goes or you can set your mind to think so and some are not even close to that. Also everything can change in a heart beat. Is that ridiculous, exciting, repulsive or what.
A9:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Mikko Ojala:The artwork of the album cover represents the athmosphere of the album together with the music.Creating the right athmosphere is important to us and it concerns also the visual aspects.
A10:What´s bands influence ours?
Jani Moilanen: I’ve listened to guitar music since I was five or six years old and I’ve been fascinated by guitar licks in all kinds of music.I have never lost that interest but within time I have grown into to the mood and feelings that music can create or amplify. That is why I listen to black metal quite much nowadays.
A11:Is the man an experience that going wrong?
Jani Moilanen:Eventhough all the inexplicable horrors taking place in the world we would like to see the kindness and the good taking over.We would like to encourage people to express their anger or hate in music or in other passions one may have.
A12:This album is conceptual?yes or no and why?
Jani Moilanen: In a way,it could be called conceptual or coherent with its athmosphere. That is something we put a lot of effort in, to create that throughout the album.
A13:Explain song four and five,please?
Jani Moilanen:Varjojen Vaeltaja” is the fourth song and it could be translated as a Roamer/Wanderer of the Shadows and the fifth song.Tyhjyyden Kulkija could be translated as a Traveler of the Void. The lyrical themes are about freedom, truth, what is real and about life and death.
A14:Outside of Music, what the bands loves to doing?
Jani Moilanen: We both have families,I think that is the most important thing for both of us. And dogs, which are part of the family too.I also love cars and motorcycles.
A15:The band feel differences between Kirous and now in Spirit From The Void?
Jani Moilanen:The basic structure and the unique core of Kaamos Warriors is still there and still the same, but the sound, melodies and the athmosphere have grown much bigger and fuller.
A16:Based on the songs of album and your own opinion,is it better to thing the human being as agony than an animal for health?
Jani Moilanen:Maybe thinking the agony as one part of the everyones unique story.
