The history of the netherlands in the extreme metal world is rich. Only now, the aristocrats literally tell it from the perspective of just one person. The Aristocracy begins in all its emotions, the forty-third interview with the band Goatmilker. by:Joey Veerbeek on Vocals, Guitars, Bass and Niek Boonman on Drums programming.Releasing their second album titled Exterminate the Holy. There were several participations, which we won't talk about. Not because we don't want to, but because the number is big and extensive. The main thing is the conversation and the album that you will see now. But, not all of it. We will make cuts.
A1:Talking about the composition work in Exterminate The Holly?
Goatmilker:Well, hello in first place, uhm most of the ideas come when i'm at work, then i record the riff ideas with my voice on the phone and when i'm home i record them on my pc. The lyrics just come in mind with some humor and fantasy included, my english isn't that good so i think i'm a very bad lyrics writer, but i have to growl some words {haha!}
A2:What kind of rapacity does the band talk about in the eighth song?
Goatmilker:Rapacity from the church, i receive letters every year to donate money to the local church, but since i don't like anything that has to do with religion i will never donate money to that.
A3:-Some literature or film inspire the band?
Goatmilker:No, most of the inspiration comes from Aeon (Sweden), my favourite band.
A4:Who is this carpenter that the band refers to in the sixth song?
Goatmilker:Jesus Christ, for religious people he is a hero, in my eyes he's just a carpenter. When he can come to earth without seed from a man, turn water into wine, split the ocean, walk over water and rise from the dead but doesn't stop priest from touching children, than he is no hero.
A5:Does the lack of religion generate more intelligence?
Goatmilker: I don't know, i think that religion destroys more than it does good.
A6:Why Behind The Cellardoor have three parts?
Goatmilker:That was unintentionally, i wrote part 1 about putting a jehovah's witness in the cellar, part 2 about a old women who put jehovah's witnesses in the cellar and part 3 i put one in my cellar again haha, but the lyrics are not connected to each other.
A7:Literally Speaking:Is the world ridiculous?
Goatmilker: At this moment, with Covid and the war in Ukraine i think there are happening some strange things. But i try not to listen or watch the news and just enjoy the fun things.
A8:How band arrive to Via Nocturna Records?
Goatmilker:My band Caedere signed a record deal last year to release our album ' Eighty Years' War ' and we are super happy with the coöperation!! They are loyal, work fast and their enthousiasm about the music is awesome. i just asked them if they were interested in releasing my music, i'm a one man solo project so i can't promote my music with live shows unfortunately but their reaction to my music was really amazing and they really wanted to release it, so i'm very happy to coöperate with them too!
A9:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Goatmilker: It's a mix from a couple songs, the crows can be heard in the intro 'Let's end this' , the burning church in 'Church Rapaciousness' and 'Hang The Priest' speaks for itself. And ofcourse a baaahdass goat.
A10:What kind of subject don´t deserve a Goatmilker song?
Goatmilker:Stuff about how great religion is i guess haha.
A11:Is it correct to say that when the band talks about human nature, you talk about it in a pessimistic way?
Goatmilker:Nah,i don't talk bad about human nature in general, i just dont like jehovah's witnesses and priests who abuse innocent children. As long i keep reading stuff about that i will raise my middlefinger to religion.
A12:This album is conceptual?yes or no and why?
Goatmilker:Lyrically not, but in the music there are some stuff that's connected, but they are so little that you need a good ear.
A13:Can the evil one also be an illusion?
Goatmilker: If the evil one is me than yes. ofcourse i would never burn a church, hang a priest or put a jehovah's witness in my cellar. I don't like them but i'm the most happy and lucky man in the world. But like i said before, i just need some words to growl.
A14:Because of technology and the confusion that the world lives, do you believe that we lie much more than in the time of our parents?
Goatmilker:I don't know, i have to ask my parents if they lied more back in time haha`}.
A15:How long did the pre-production of this album take?
Goatmilker:Too long. I wrote 'Unanswered Prayers' in 2016 i think and 'Watchtowerwhore Abattoir' at the end of 2021 so it took a lot of time in between. I joined Caedere 4 years ago so i had to learn a lot of new songs and became a father in 2019 so didn't have much time. But im glad it took so long because the album could't be better than it is now i think.
