We are in our newsroom, where we will start in all your emotions, the 114th interview of the Aristocracy!This time, our interviewees belong to Sweden. They are called Bervarjelsen. In the year 2018, they made their debut album entitled Vallmo. Other works were made, even because they were founded in 2014. For example, two Episodes that are called Villfarelser in 2015 and 2016, Exil. A third was made in 2019 and was called Frost. The second album answers some questions, made at the end of May of the current year. This album is called Atlas. The band shows in a super interview details about Atlas. We thank the band and Erik, who is their Drummer in particular and also the website Heavy Blog Is Heavy.

A1:Talking about the composition work in Atlas?
Erik Bäckwall:Well, we worked at home a lot due to the pandemic. So we wrote most of the basics separately and then sent each other files to get some input and finaly we recorded some demos. A2:Specters roaming the surface of the earth. Who or what are the specters that inspired Atlas to be made?
Erik Bäckwall:That’s us! :)
A3:What kind of Conjuration do you want in Atlas?
Erik Bäckwall:We hope it will conjure up more people to listen to it!
A4:Some literature or film inspire the band?
Erik Bäckwall:No, mostly its personal experiences.Song titles and stuff can be inspirerad by books or film though.
A5:I'm not against it, I love the band's style totally. But why Stoner and not Sludge?
Erik Bäckwall:We have never thought about that. We don’t consider us a stoner band either. Sure, there are elements of it, but the music is broader then that I think. We just write what we like and if it is stoner, sludge, rock or doom it doesnt matter.
A6:What kind of subject don´t deserve a Besvarjelsen Song?
Erik Bäckwall:Hmm hard to say, but Im pretty sure fantasy lyrics à la Lord of the rings won’t make an apearance anytime soon.
A7:What bands influence Besvarjelsen?
Erik Bäckwall:Well, we have some bands that we all dig I think, like early Danzig for example. But everyone brings their own influences as well.
A8:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Erik Bäckwall:That if we don’t take care of our planet and people its gonna be our undoing. And it was a cool illustration:)
A9:How did punk enter the sonic structure of a Stoner band?
Erik Bäckwall:We all have listened a lot to punk and played in punk bands before so it came naturally. Me, Johan and Andreas played together 20 years ago in a kind of punk band as well.

A10:What to do when you like rock and doom born from the desert but your surroundings offer anything but arid lands?
Erik Bäckwall:You bring your own element to it. Were we live, we have a lot of forest and folk music so it inspires us for sure.
A11:Dalarna and Stockholm are in the same country. But what differences do they have that make Atlas a good response to fans?
Erik Bäckwall:Well,Stockholm is a big city environment with a lot of concrete and water. We live in small towns surrounded by trees. And that influenced in some ways when we wrote the album.

A12:New album is conceptual?
Erik Bäckwall:No, it is not.
A13:Vallmo and Atlas Are they different musically or lyrically?Justify this answer!
Both I would say. I think we have progressed a lot since we made Vallmo, Atlas is more focused. And I think Lea has made huge progress with the lyrics since Vallmo even though they were good on that album too.
A14:It is shown that this album is split into two sides, why this decision despite supporting it?
Erik Bäckwall:A vinyl record has two sides, it’s as simple as that :)
