Ninth Interview Of The Aristocracy with the Curious French Band Frau Fleischer

Aristocracy arrives at its Ninth Interview with a band that mixes metal with cabaret, high revenge and the industrial side with the right still to a theatrical structure. The band in question is the French Frau Fleischer. The band shows us their album titled When The Sun's Down .The band is formed by:The Unbelievable Gabriel Daimon on Vocals,Greg Lambert On Guitar/percussion and Franz Schultz on Electronic/Vocals.All band answer our questions.Let's go to a song by this incredible and unbelievable band before you follow the interview in all its fantastic emotions.

A1:Talking about the composition work in When The Sun´s Down?

Gabriel Daimon: We’ve been working on this album for eight months but only by video calls, being the three of us very far from each other in the writing period. It has been a challenge, because creating and sharing that process with people so far from you isn’t always the easiest way, but we didn’t give up and finished our work in time, well, only with a little diva-licious lateness.

A2:Some literature or film inspire the band?

Gabriel Daimon: I am personally very inspired by movies and poets.A very important part of my personal writing process is based on visualizing the idea and rendering it in the most accurate way by using as many tools as I can: music, fashion, performance, video art, words.A movie that really inspired me since I was young is Lost Highway by David Lynch, which universe with a side of Planet Terror by Rodriguez has really inspired me through the writing of this album.

Greg :I think we all like & enjoy movies that are a bit odd or even weird. Like Gabriel, I’m a huge fan of David Lynch’s work, I really enjoy movies from Wim Wenders or the Coen Brothers, some movies by Caro & Jeunet. I’m also a big of Japanese movies like Tetsuo !

A3:Why the band have this name?

Gabriel Daimon:This name was the perfect mix of glam and raw,the butcher, the woman of meat.A beautiful sensual creature living into the flames of a lost world, trying to survive into the infernal fall of life.

A4:This album is conceptual?Yes or no and why?

Gabriel Daimon: It surely has a concept, maybe not in the way it is intended, but both musically and lyrically,When The Sun’s Down is a collection of tales that if you pay attention are told all along the album.

A5:How band arrive to Sliptrick Records?

Franz Schultz: When we released our first track Sacrifice,we started searching a label structure and Sliptrick Records contacted us and showed a real interest for our music. We discussed the contract and signed for our first album.

A6:How is Frau Fleischer different from your previous bands?

Franz Schultz:I have played in several bands and each band is different.

We are three very different kinds of musicians and we come from very opposite’s worlds and t’s not always easy, but surely worth it.

Greg:It is quite difficult at times as we have three very strong personalities with a wide range of tastes. But instead of seeing it as a weakness,I have the feeling it is one of our biggest strengths as we walk far from the beaten path & we can bring something new to the table. The first album is only a small taste of what’s next to come !

A7:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?

Gabriel Daimon:The artwork was shoot by Lavinia Andreini, an Italian filmmaker and photographer.I personally edited the pictures to show the dark and voluptuous soul of the butcher,a creature without race, without gender, always on the edge of life. Its aim is to search, find and treasure emotions, surrounding itself with the beauty of chaos.

A8:How band mix all these styles in this album?

Franz Schultz:We try to do our best to include in all song a little touch of all our influences.

Sometimes the tracks are more pop, more metal or more electro but everybody brings his knowledge to the creation process and I think the result is good, isn’t it ?

A9:It´s more easy or more practical a band like powertrio?

Gabriel Daimon:Neither one,it ain’t easy to have a group, especially if you live far from each other.Being in a band is never easy otherwise everyone would do it.We never actually thought oh yeah we should be 3 or 5 or 10 in the band.Things happened in the most natural way. Franz asked Gabriel to join and then he asked me and we found that the three of us were like dynamite. When we played music together we all felt something special was happening and that’s how Frau Fleischer was born.

A10:How the sexuality inspire the band?

Gabriel Daimon:Sex is a very strong and powerful instrument. It can reflect many other facettes of life and is so universal that everybody can feel touched by it,because I am touched by it in the first place and what shall I write about if not what I know? The relationship that everybody has with it’s own sexuality is very personal and intimate,I use it as a breaking point for prejudices and as s statement of self-expression,refusing the shame of pleasure.

A11:What pains of body inspire the band?

Gabriel Daimon:It’s the line that stands between pleasure and pain, the orgasm of the senses.

Pictures and sounds can immerge you into a different world, where theatre becomes the way you explain reality. The Butcher, born into the imagination is a suffering creature looking for attentions. She likes all of the pains, those of the body and those of the soul.

A12:Literally Speaking:Is the world ridiculous?

Gabriel Daimon: Absolutely, but I am so much more!

A13:All album have a black humor?

Gabriel Daimon:I’m not personally a big fan of black humour unless it’s really smart, but humour, absolutely! We at Frau Fleischer’s apartments, try to take life not so seriously!

A14:Why the cabaret style inspire the band?

Gabriel Daimon:Cabaret is my roots, glitters, musical performances, jazz and drag shows are my favorite things in the world and women as Liza Minelli, Shirley Bassey,Judy Garland, Dita Von Teese, Lady Gaga,Cher and so many others inspired me so much.

A15:When The Sun ´s down,it´s a good time to head the band?

Franz Schultz:Good question, every moment of day and night is good to listen to our album!

A16:Based of the songs of album and your own opinion,it´s better to think the human being as agony than an animal for health?

Franz Schultz:Sorry,too philosophical for me.

Greg:You know the old saying Homo hominy lupus,so you’ve got your answer.
