Well,Friends Of Aristocracy!

We speak again of our newsroom. Where, in a little while, we will follow in all its emotions, the seventy-first interview of the Aristocracy. This time, our interviewees are the French from Post-Mortem and who present us with their second album entitled Monumental Pandemonium.

Before the chat, we must say that the band had a short break in 2008.

With the return, happening in 2012 until the present day of this interview. In this, second phase of them were released two complete albums mentioned here above.Let's go to one of their songs so that we can follow this conversation we had with them. The stage is theirs.

A1:Talking about the composition work in Monumental Pandemonium?

PMB:Well,we took the composition from the bottom. All Songs were composed (except Cryptic revelations and altar of inner ghoul) bass and drums. Once, we had the foundation and basis structure of all songs our guitarists started to add their touch.Solos and orchestrations you can hear in "mountain of skulls" for example. It was really a complete team effort and band work.

A2:Is it correct to say that you don't like to stick to a specific theme for your songs?

PMB:We like to have fun,we authorise ourselves a lot of things haha, this is what music is all about.Having fun, experiments and discovering new grounds.

3-In the beginning, you were Melodic Death Metal, today there is no such thing. How and why was this decision made?

PMB:It wasn't a decision.In our band, we always say "Post-mortem do Post-mortem stuff" it kinda happened and that's it.we composed, worked and we naturally took a certain direction and...well, 'voila" {haha!}

A4:Even though it was a period that doesn't happen, we need to ask even to help my reader. Why did this temporary rupture happen in 2008?

PMB:Sam and Jack our guitarists had an other project called Karelia...big project...they made mutliple tours with Scorpions..made albums and played all other europe and more in the biggest stadiums...it took a lot of time and work. But i think it was a good thing because Post-mortem came back stronger and with strong determination.

A5:Undoubtedly, their songs don't talk about politics. But, indirectly, can they be considered to some public man?

PMB:Well like you said we don't bother with politic and we'll never will. Frankly, i don't know.If someone sees a political message.Well, that's your interpretation but will never be ours.

A6:Are there any expectations of doing the show with Crusher?

PMB:Fingers crossed man.

A7:The band feel differences between God With Horns and Monumental Pandemonium?

PMB:Oh yeah. We worked differently...we're older and (maybe) wiser and this time we really knew what we wanted to achieve, what kind of sound and what kind of impact. It took a lot of time to find the right methode but we believe it really paid of.

A8:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?

PMB:The mad spirit and great talent of our dummer haha. He's a painter and did all of the Artwork, wrote the lyrics and is the guardian of Post-mortem's story.

A9:How the band arrive to Great Dane Records?

PMB:We were preparing the first album.....and we recorded some demo songs. The bassplayer (so me actually responding to you haha) decided without asking the others, to send these demos to some labels and Great Dane answered, the rest is history haha.

A10:Some literature or film inspire the band?

PMB:Not really.i'm personnally a star wars fan. Our drummer reads a lot and is a big art fan.

A11:Based on the band's name, we generated the question. Do you believe in the possibility of reincarnation? Whether it's affirmative or not, the answer. Explain why!

PMB:Well i answer to you we'll see once we're dead.Personnally, my answer is "i don't know".We'll all find out one day. But, not today please.

A12:Evidently, in the eighth song, the band refers to the emperor. But can we say that this song is an ode to the emperor?

PMB:Of course....the one and only Tom Arraya.

A13:This album is conceptual?

PMB:Music is always conceptual!

A14:What kind of subject don´t deserve a Post Mortem Song?

PMB:Politics.....We strongly believe politics has nothing to do with music...music is an entertainment and a pleasure.

A15:Does your daily work influence your musical work?

PMB:Of course, life is hard and all the bad moments and bad days are transformed in energy we then put in our music. Death metal is an outlet...that's the beauty of this music.

A16:What would the 2022 Post-Mortem say to the 1995 Post-Mortem?

PMB:Good question.i arrived in 2012....but i think not much because all was so different back in the 90s. Today you have home studio...you can make your own music videos.....you can share your music worldwide with one click of your mouse. This wasn't possible 27 years ago. I would say "keep going" is our mantra and will always be.
