Hi all and greetings from Finland!A1:The first question is: What can you say about the writing of this album? Does it have a defined name?

Katri:We write music mainly by having jamming sessions together and Katri, the lead singer, writes the lyrics. The new album is going to be called "The Vile Entity". A2:What kind of atmospheres are different on this album?

Katri:On the new album, we are going to introduce very versatile atmospheres and we combine very many subgenres of metal: groove, black and death metal with some hints of jazz and classical singing. A3:How are the progressions being made for this work?

Katri:With this album,we have used even more different elements. We have recorded choirs and some folk instruments which were not there for the previous album. Compared to The Cataclysm, I would say the overall style is more sinister and brutal. A4:Some literature or film inspire the band?

Katri:Katri has written many lyrics based on old fairy tales, such as Snow White or Sleeping Beauty, and adapted the stories with a Sci-fi or horror twist. As the album, discusses the "evil seed" in human being, some songs tell stories about real, historical characters, such as Erzsebet Báthory, for example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J1VEHraDp0

A5:How band arrive to Inverse Records?

Katri:We had our album release show for The Cataclysm, and to our surprise, a lot of people showed up. So we we sold out and the gig booker at that venue told Inverse Records about us so they eventually contacted us and we made a deal for releasing our second album. A6:What and how are your contrasts placed for this album?

Katri:We have many songs that have beautiful, ethereal parts combined with brutal and sinister atmospheres. We put the story of the song first and the music is reflecting the stories. For the vocals, we use a range of styles, from operatic to death growls. A7:What kinds of extreme elements can we find on this album?

Katri: You can expect more death metal elements on this album:fast, aggressive blast beat parts ;) A8:Even though they have never been published, do you feel that there is a different way of playing than what was played ten years ago?

Katri:Definitely. Our musical style has changed drastically. With every new member joining the band, the musical style of Numento has taken new directions so that our music reflects the personalities and musical taste of ALL band members and that's what makes it such a unique combination of styles. A9:What kinds of relationships does the band bring to this album?

Katri:We enjoy playing and jamming together as a group and we spend a lot of time practicing together . A10:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?

Katri:The artwork is done by our guitarist Aleksi. He draws and paints everything by hand and then finished the picture on computer. This technique is what makes the pictures interesting, and his style with making art fits Numento's music so well. He has been in the band the longest among us so he really knows the music well and is able to reflect it with his artwork. A11:This album is conceptual?yes or no and why?

Katri:Yes.The album will focus on the question how does a human being become evil, why do some people become serial killers, for instance. What is the seed of evil? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwO6LU9tYkc

A12:Based on your songs and your personal truth, answer: Due to technocracy, do you believe that we lie more than in the time of our parents?

Katri: I think yes.Through internet and social media,it is certainly easy to influence other people, to spread fake news and yes, also lies.So we need to be very careful about who we believe. To be critical about the content in social media. But it has also good sides: to be able to have more audience around the world, to connect with people from other continents. A13:In any way, the day-to-day of the members influenced any of your songs, whether from this album or any other?

Katri:Hmm, well yes, I take a lot of inspiration to the lyrics from movies and series I watch. We also actively listen to a lot of music so I guess one cannot avoid getting ideas from that, too. Some lyrical topics have been also connected to my day job, as well. I work in speech technology, and the topic of Artificial Intelligence has inspired me. A14:What makes Numento different from your past or current projects?

Katri:We have so much fun together, we are like family so we support each other no matter what :) A15:What´s bands influence Numento?

Katri:I think at least Gojira, Jinjer, Epica, The Ocean collective, to name a few. We all have a bit of a different taste in music. A16:The band feel differences between The Cataclysm and now in this second album?

Katri:The lyrical theme is different, the second album goes deeper into the human mind and psychology while The Cataclysm was more about the global changes in the world. We have also had a line-up change, a new bass player, and as a whole we have developed our skills a lot. We have used even more contrasts in our music and we have practiced a lot for live performances, we want to give our best at every show, no matter how big or small event. A17:Based on your songs and your personal truth, answer: Is the human being an agony or an animal for health?

Katri:Life is always challenging and unexpected things can happen. It is very difficult to be in this moment when there is so much uncertainty: war, pandemic etc..But,being present and trying to enjoy every moment is priceless. Thanks again for the interesting questions and have nice day!
