Well,Friends Of Aristocracy!
We speak again of our newsroom, where in a little while, we will have in all its emotions, the interview 211 of the Aristocracy. This time, we spoke with a band that does a classic work but that, in its style, shows weight, intensity and musical character. This time, they worked hard and even with the harsh pandemic, they showed that their strength and capacity only increased even more. While doing so, their style is strong even though they apply it in their own way.We spoke with the French from Evil-Minded and they show us their second album entitled 'Lucy's Fate'. project.Let's play a song to get this chat started!
A1:Talking about the composition work in Lucy´s Fate?
Evil-Minded:The two guitarists of the band took advantage of the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic to compose new guitar riffs. Then the others members composed their pieces in order to obtain the whole thing.
A2:Is there a witchcraft aspect to your songs?
Evil-Minded:Not especially, our lyrics are more about the various conflicts and myths of our world.
A3:At some point, can the demons addressed in your sound be seen as our internal problems?
Evil-Minded:Our texts deal more with the general problems of our society through its conflicts rather than our individual problems.
A4:Some literature or film inspire the band?
Evil-Minded:Of course, we even named the album "Lucy's Fate" after Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula". As for the other lyrics, even if they are not linked to a particular piece, we are inspired by various documentaries and stories that we have seen or read on our own.
A5:Based on the ninth song, can we say that this generation lies more than our parents did?
Evil-Minded:In reality, this title denounces sectarian activities by portraying a Guru who hypnotizes his followers with his words and lies. All generations lie, we don't particularly think that ours is worse than the others.
A6:How to give your own face to a sound that legendary bands already made?
Evil-Minded:Our sound is mainly the result of a collaboration between the different members of the band and "Plume" the sound engineer who is working with us.The choice of instruments, amps and other equipment is made in the studio following several tests and discussions around the album production. Fun fact, after having recorded all the guitar tracks of the album with some guitars, we tried different combinations of guitars/pickups and finally we chose to redo everything with the new gear :')
A7:How band arrive to Music Records?
Evil-Minded:Following the release of our demo "Weighing of the Heart", we approached several music labels and finally our choice fell on Music-Records who supports us for the release and the promotions of our second album "Lucy's Fate".
A8:What´s the idea behind artwork´s album?
Evil-Minded:The album artwork shows our version of the character Lucy Westenra from the novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. We chose this design because it refers to the eponymous title of the album, whose lyrics tell the story of this character. We sent our ideas to the artist Mario Lopez who did a fantastic job.
A9:If the world we know didn't have absurd moments.Would it be weird to live?
Evil-Minded:It's hard to answer this question which would deserve a philosophical essay. If this were the case, we probably wouldn't have much to tell through our lyrics :')
A10:What kind of subject don´t deserve a Evil Minded song?
Evil-Minded:Everything that can inspire us deserves an Evil-Minded song!
A11: What´s bands influence ours?
Evil-Minded:If it's our influences that you are looking for, we are inspired by Heavy Metal pioneers such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motörhead...
A12:Is there any positive light for this world to come out of the abyss, besides the good and special Heavy Metal?
Evil-Minded:Without speaking specifically about Heavy Metal, we think that music and even art in general allows us to escape a little from this often dark world.
A13:This album is conceptual?
Evil-Minded:Not really, there are similarities in the subjects mentioned but each track is independent.
A14:We know it's a story, but if Lucy and the Count lived in our era, what would they say about our world?
Evil-Minded:Habits and philosophies have changed since then and in our opinion they would leave as quickly as they came! :)
A15:The band feel differences between Into the Jaws of Death and now in Lucy ´s Fate?
Evil-Minded:The production of the album is different in our minds. The work done beforehand was different, we spent a lot more time on the composition, the musical research and the tone. We also welcomed Guillaume Lefebvre on bass guitar, which brought some new ideas in the songwriting.
A16:How band know about the Domino Media?
Evil-Minded:Via our label Music-Records.
A17:How is Evil Minded different from your previous bands?
Evil-Minded:In fact, with the exception of Guillaume, our bass player, Evil-Minded is our first band. The main trio Guitars/Drums/Singing started playing together and still does today with as much fun as ever!
